Eveyla is a product of Propera Pvt Ltd ("Propera", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in the Republic of Maldives. Eveyla Labs is a registered business name of Propera. In this policy, "Eveyla" means the Eveyla product and every service we run under that name.
This policy explains what personal information we collect through Eveyla, why we collect it, how we use, share, and protect it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to:
customers who browse shops, place orders, pay through a payment link, or receive statements from a shop;
shops, meaning the businesses, restaurants, home kitchens, and sellers that use Eveyla, and their owners and staff; and
visitors to our websites, including shop.eveyla.com, eveyla.com, shop storefronts (including storefronts on a shop's own domain), order tracking pages, and our messaging channels.
It works alongside our Terms of Use and, for shops, our Shop Terms.
1. Who is responsible for your information
For the platform itself, Propera is responsible. This covers shop accounts, our billing of shops, security, fraud prevention, analytics, support, and the general running of Eveyla.
Each shop is an independent business. When you order from a shop, the shop uses your order information to accept, prepare, deliver, and support your order, and it is responsible for its own use of that information. Shops can also keep their own business records on Eveyla, such as customer lists, credit accounts, point of sale sales, expenses, and supplier bills. The shop decides what to record and why, and Eveyla stores and processes those records to provide the service to the shop. Eveyla also uses limited information from them for its own purposes, such as security, billing, legal records, and improving Eveyla using information that does not identify anyone. If your question is about how a particular shop uses your information, please contact that shop first. We will help where we can.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to provide Eveyla and keep it safe.
2.1 Customers
Order details: your name, phone number, delivery address, island, how you want to receive your order (delivery, pickup, dine-in, or shipping), the items you order, and any note you add.
Payment details for your order: the payment method you choose, and if you pay by bank transfer, the transfer receipt image you upload. You pay the shop directly. We do not collect card or bank login details from customers.
Business buyer details: if you ask for a tax invoice, the business name, tax identification number (TIN), and address you give.
Payment links and statements: if a shop sends you a payment link or a statement for an account you have with the shop, the details of that request and anything you submit in response, such as a transfer receipt.
Reviews: if you rate an order, the first name you enter, your rating, and any comment. Reviews are shown publicly on the shop's page.
Information a shop records about you: a shop may record your name, phone number, purchases, and account balance in its own records, for example when you buy on credit or at its counter.
2.2 Shops, owners, and staff
Account details: name, email address, phone number, and sign-in details. If you sign in with a third-party account, we receive basic profile details from that service.
Shop details: shop name, logo, photos, address, contact details, hours, delivery settings, items, prices, and other content you add.
Bank and payment details: the bank account name and number you publish so customers can pay you, and payment account details you choose to show, such as a PayPal address.
Billing records: your plan, add-ons, invoices and receipts, the payment receipts you upload, and the results of payments you make to us.
Card payments to Eveyla: see section 4.
Business records you keep on Eveyla: orders, sales, customers, credit accounts, expenses, supplier bills and their details, stock, and tax records.
Files you upload for our tools to read: for example a menu or item list, a supplier bill, or a payment receipt (see section 5).
Verification documents: if you apply for seller verification, the identity or business documents you submit. These are stored privately and are never shown publicly.
Staff: the names and email addresses of people you invite, and their roles.
Messages with us: what you send us through support, email, WhatsApp, or Telegram.
2.3 Everyone
Device and usage information: pages viewed, actions taken, device and browser type, approximate location based on your IP address, and similar technical details, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 9).
Security information: IP addresses and technical logs that we use to run the service, protect it from abuse, and investigate problems.
Notification settings: if you turn on notifications, the details needed to send them to you.
Information saved on your device: to make ordering easier, your cart, the details you last used at checkout, and links to your recent orders are stored in your own browser. This stays on your device until you clear it, and we only receive it when you submit an order.
3. How we use information, and why
We use personal information for the purposes below. The reason the law lets us do so is shown in brackets.
To pass your order to the shop, show its status, and let you and the shop contact each other (to provide the service you asked for)
To create and run shop accounts and the tools shops use, including storefronts, the order board, point of sale, payment links, statements, reports, and tax records (to provide the service, under our agreement with the shop)
To bill shops, take and confirm payments, issue receipts, and turn paid features on or off (our agreement with the shop, and our legal obligations)
To read files you ask our tools to read, and to answer questions you ask our assistant (to provide the feature you chose to use)
To show ratings and reviews (our legitimate interest in helping customers and shops)
To send order, account, billing, and security messages (to provide the service, or your consent where required)
To send shops news about Eveyla features and offers (our legitimate interest; you can opt out at any time)
To provide support and respond to requests (to provide the service, or our legitimate interest)
To understand how Eveyla is used and improve it (our legitimate interest, and your consent where required for analytics cookies)
To keep Eveyla secure, prevent fraud and misuse, enforce our terms, and protect shops, customers, and Eveyla (our legitimate interest, and our legal obligations)
To keep records and meet legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations, and to respond to lawful requests (legal obligation)
To establish, exercise, or defend legal claims (our legitimate interest)
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we only proceed where your rights do not override them. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
4. Payments and cardholder information
Customers pay shops directly. Eveyla does not collect, hold, or transfer the money for an order. Depending on what the shop offers, you pay by cash, bank transfer, PayPal, a card machine at the shop, or an account you have with the shop. A transfer receipt you upload is stored so the shop can confirm your payment. Eveyla cannot verify, reverse, or recover a payment between you and a shop.
Shops paying Eveyla by card. Shops can pay their Eveyla bill by debit or credit card through Bank of Maldives (BML Connect). Card details are entered on Bank of Maldives' secure payment page, not on Eveyla, and travel over an encrypted connection directly to the bank. The bank may ask the cardholder to confirm the payment with their card issuer (3-D Secure).
Eveyla never receives or stores a full card number or security code. From the bank we receive what we need to record the payment: the bank's reference, the amount, the currency, the result, the card type, and the last four digits of the card.
Saved cards and auto-pay. If a shop owner chooses to save a card, the card is kept by Bank of Maldives. Eveyla keeps only a protected reference to it, the card type, the last four digits, and the expiry month and year, so the owner can see which card is saved and pay with it. The reference can only be used to pay Eveyla. The owner can remove a saved card or turn off auto-pay at any time on the billing screen, and we then ask the bank to delete it.
5. Automated tools and artificial intelligence
Some Eveyla features use automated tools, including artificial intelligence services provided by our technology providers, to read files and text and to produce suggestions. For example:
reading a menu, list, or photo so a shop can add its items faster;
reading a supplier bill so a shop can record an expense;
reading a payment receipt to help a shop, or Eveyla, check whether it matches the amount due; and
answering questions a shop owner asks its business assistant, using that shop's own data.
When you use these features, the content you submit, and for the assistant the relevant shop data, is sent to these providers so they can process it for us. We ask our providers to use it only to provide the service to us.
Results from these tools are suggestions and can be wrong. Shops review and decide what to do with them. A receipt check helps a shop decide but does not confirm that money has arrived.
When we check payment receipts that shops send to Eveyla, automated results may help us. If you disagree with a decision, contact us and we will review it.
We do not make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects based only on automated processing.
6. Who we share information with
We share personal information only as needed to run Eveyla:
The shop you deal with, which receives the information it needs to serve you (see section 1).
Our service providers, which work on our behalf, such as hosting, communications, analytics, and artificial intelligence services (see section 5). They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
Bank of Maldives, to process card payments made to Eveyla.
Services you choose to use, such as WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram, PayPal, or your bank's app. What happens there is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Professional advisers, authorities, courts, and regulators, where the law requires it or where it is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of anyone, or the security of Eveyla.
A successor, if our business or assets are reorganised, merged, or sold, subject to this policy.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for other companies' own advertising. If you need details of our providers for a legal or compliance reason, email hello@propera.io.
7. International transfers
Some of our providers store or process information outside the Maldives. When information is transferred abroad, we use reputable providers with recognised security and contractual protections, and we limit what is transferred to what is needed. If the law requires additional safeguards for a transfer, we will put them in place.
8. Shops' responsibilities
Shops receive personal information about their customers through Eveyla. Our Shop Terms require shops to use it only to serve their customers and run their business, keep it secure, and handle it lawfully. If you contact a shop through WhatsApp, Viber, or a phone call, that conversation is between you and the shop.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for:
Essential purposes: keeping you signed in, remembering your cart, keeping the service secure, and remembering your choices. Eveyla does not work properly without these.
Analytics: understanding how Eveyla is used so we can improve it.
You can control cookies and local storage in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, some features will not work. Where the law requires consent for analytics, we follow the choice you make.
10. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it:
Orders, payments, receipts, invoices, and tax records: as long as needed to provide the service, and for the periods required by Maldivian tax and accounting law and to resolve disputes. This can be several years.
Shop accounts and business records: while the account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal obligations, handle disputes, and let a returning shop pick up where it left off.
Uploaded files that are no longer needed: deleted after a reasonable period.
Reviews: while the shop is listed, unless removed earlier under our terms.
Notification settings: until you turn notifications off or they expire.
Analytics information: for the retention period set in our analytics tools.
When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove what identifies you.
11. How we protect information
We use reputable providers and appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and limits on who can access it. Card details are handled by Bank of Maldives and do not pass through Eveyla.
Authorised Eveyla personnel may access a shop's account and data, and act on it, where needed to provide support the shop asks for, keep the service secure, investigate misuse, or meet legal obligations.
No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We work to keep our measures up to date and ask you to keep your sign-in details safe.
12. Data breaches
If a breach of personal information is likely to affect your rights, we will act to contain and investigate it and, where the law requires, notify the relevant authority and the people affected without undue delay.
13. Your rights
Subject to the law of the Maldives, you can ask us to:
give you access to the personal information we hold about you;
correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
delete information, where there is no overriding reason for us to keep it;
restrict or object to some uses, including uses based on our legitimate interests or for marketing;
give you a copy of information you provided, in a portable form, where this applies; and
withdraw consent, where we rely on it, without affecting earlier use.
To make a request, email hello@propera.io. We may need to confirm your identity first. We aim to respond within 30 days and will tell you if we need longer or cannot fully meet a request, and why. Some information must be kept even after a deletion request, for example to meet tax or legal obligations or to resolve a dispute. If your request is about a shop's own records, we may pass it to that shop or ask you to contact it.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the relevant authority in the Maldives. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.
14. Children
Eveyla is intended for people aged 18 and over. Someone under 18 may only use Eveyla with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, and only an adult may run a shop. We do not knowingly collect information from children without that consent. If you believe a child has given us information without it, contact us and we will remove it.
15. Sensitive information
We do not ask for sensitive information such as health, religious, or biometric details. Please only include it where it is needed for your order, for example noting an allergy so a shop can prepare your food safely. If you share such a detail, it is used only for that purpose.
16. Aggregated information
We may create aggregated or anonymised information that does not identify anyone or any individual shop, for example overall usage trends, and use it to run, analyse, and improve Eveyla. This information is not personal information.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date and post the new version on Eveyla. If a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to tell you, for example in the app or by email. Using Eveyla after a change means you accept the updated policy.
